MumboGumbo

Cajun Blues & Rock

As the name suggests, MumboGumbo is a hot pot of flavours - blues, funk, rock,

country - played by some of Australia's finest musicians - Influences include

Little Feat, Ry Cooder, JJ Cale, and the like. Our repertoire includes originals and

a range of cover material from Australia, Canada, the USA, and England all played with

with our unique flavour

Kirk Lorange - Slide Guitar/Vocals

Kirk is originally from Montreal in Canada and has spent twenty years based in Sydney, either touring or recording (or both). Recording and performance credits include a huge range of Australia's finest acts. Amongst these are: Richard Clapton, Marc Hunter, Dragon, Glenn Shorrock, Renee Geyer, Doug Parkinson, Jon English, Sharon O'Neill, Kevin Johnson & others. He established himself as a session player and in 1984 released his own solo album - 'No Apostrophe' which was re-released due to popular demand in 1994. Kirk is the author of the much-publicised 'Plane Talk' guitar tuition manual which has become famous for its unusual approach and amazing results amongst its readers.

Peter 'Willy' Willersdorf - Bass

Peter's playing has had a national profile in Australia for over 15 years. A session musician of long standing and live performer par excellence, he has most recently been a member of The Dukes, a Sony Music act featuring Sean Kelly, founding member of The Models. Willy's musical career has spanned a wide range of musical flavours from Country to Jazz Rock. His experience and talent have long been in demand from all quarters of the Australian Music Industry.

Phil Graham - Guitar/Vocals

Phil's music can be heard throughout 22 countries worldwide. A performer, writer, and producer, Phil's musicianship can be found on numerous film and documentary scores, albums and commercials. His experience in the recording industry has included work for such companies as Warner-Chappel, Trafalgar Records, BMG, Royal Records and many others.

Steve 'Dodgey' Roy - Drums/Vocals

Steve's musical approach to drumming and beautiful vocal qualities are only matched by his inability to sit still for a photograph. As soon as we can calm him down from his last strawberry jam sandwich we're gonna sedate him, hold his eyes open, and get him to smile by playing 'When the Levee Breaks' at quadruple speed. This is a rendering done by an artist who saw him run past the chiko roll bar in Muckadilla NSW sometime last week...Of course the artist had sampled the local mushroom crop and any resemblance between this picture and our extremely fine drummer is purely coincidental.Thankyou.
